Leiblichkeit & Sexualität

Votivkirche, Vienna, Austria, 2014
Curated by David Rastas

In Wet Dreams, Tanja Nis-Hansen documents the relational systems between father and daughter. The film’s change of location from the originally planned swimming pool to a bathtub evokes themes that are discussed in context, such as limitations of comfort and opposing perspectives between father and daughter. Nis-Hansen’s piece observes her family through a process of cleansing, and organizes a narrative around objective observations - creating a type of spectacle from normalcy that offers both comfort and relief.
