Pipilotti Rist, I'm a Victim of this Song, 2005

The first work encountered in the chapel is Rist’s video which elicits a feeling of terror and panic as she repeatedly shrieks an interpretation of Chris Isaak’s lyrics “I don’t want to fall in love!” Through the screeching, the viewer is fully immersed in layered meanings that include the fear of falling in love.
